Former Liverpool managing director Christian Purslow has landed a new job at Chelsea.
Purslow was in charge at Liverpool between 2009 and 2011, a period of transition on and off the field.
During that period, the sale of Liverpool from Hicks and Gillete to Fenway was orchestrated, while Roy Hodgson was hired and fired and replaced by Kenny Dalglish.
Chelsea have appointed him in a commercial role, the first permanent role he has had in football since leaving Liverpool.
A statement on the Chelsea website, read: "Chelsea Football Club is pleased to announce that Christian Purslow is joining the club to run our global commercial activities. Mr Purslow's appointment is effective immediately."
Purslow certainly has a mixed reputation among Liverpool fans, and reaction to his appointment at Chelsea has been sharp.
Here's how they reacted via Twitter:
Like Torres, Purslow has gone to Chelsea. The similarity ends there though, as Torres was outstanding at Liverpool. #lfc— Conal (@conalfz) October 27, 2014
Purslow has joined the staff at Chelsea. A match made in heaven if ever there was one.— Paul (@Taxiforwoody) October 27, 2014
