Graham Hunter: 'If Arsenal buy Pedro, they'll be buying well'

The Spanish football expert was commenting on reports linking the Spaniard with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal are lining up a move for Barcelona forward Pedro according to some reports.

Pedro faces a difficult task getting a regular starting place at the Camp Nou after the signing of Luis Suarez in the summer for £75 million allows Barca to play a formidable front three including the Uruguayan, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The Gunners were allowed to sign Alexis Sanchez from the La Liga giants in the summer for around £30 million, and Spanish football expert Graham Hunter believes Pedro would be a great addition to the Arsenal side.

He told TalkSport: "He has got things that will delight people in Britain.

"Technically, he is a very good footballer. He is tremendously quick, he works hard without the ball, he will press and harass.

"He is an out and out winger but he can play wing-back and his scoring rate for Spain is verging on one a game.

"If they [Arsenal] buy him, they will be buying well and they will be much more difficult to play against when they are seeking the ball because Pedro harasses, chases and snaps. He's a very diligent player and a fabulous guy."

Whether these reports materialise into something tangible remains to be seen as Barcelona probably won't want the 27-year-old to leave whilst the club is subject to a transfer ban.

It would be an interesting move should Arsenal land Pedro. They will be signing a very good technical player who has experience of winning big prizes and would strengthen any side. It would be interesting to see how Arsene Wenger would line up if Pedro were to arrive, with Alexis, Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud possibly all at his disposal.

It would be a headache for the Arsenal boss, but as headaches go, it wouldn't be a bad one.
