Jack Cork has praised the impact that Sadio Mane has made since arriving at Southampton this summer.
Mane was a deadline day signing from Red Bull Salzburg and he has wasted no time settling in on the South-Cast.
The Senegalese international has established himself as one of the key players in Southampton's starting line-up and scored his first goal for the club in their win against Stoke City at the weekend.
It was a strike which has impressed Cork and he moved to praise the 22-year-old today.
“He brings something different,” he said to the Basingstoke Gazette. “He’s a quick winger, he’s got good skill, good flair."
“We haven’t really got a player like that in our team – Sadio is direct and pacy, but we’ve got forwards that all bring different qualities and the manager’s got a good selection, and a hard selection choice, with four or five different attackers that he can use, and it’s a good option for him to have.”
Mane looks set to be a star at St. Mary's for some time and the ease which he has adapted to English football has been hugely impressive.
He is not the only one of Southampton's summer recruits to fit in straight away in the Premier League, though.
The club arguably had the best transfer window of any side in the country, despite losing a number of key players, and they are now in a position to challenge for the Champions League.
The side are now in the top-four of the Premier League table and, although they may not remain their for the whole season, they certainly have a chance of claiming a lofty spot in the table.
