Forest's £1.5m man Antonio: 'Confidence is definitely an issue'

Nottingham Forest's winger Michail Antonio admits that the side are low on confidence.

Nottingham Forest winger Michail Antonio says that confidence is definitely an issue for the squad as they have been in poor form for so long.

The Reds have now gone seven games without a win in all competitions and Antonio admits that it has negatively impacted on the side.

"Confidence is definitely an issue, because we are not getting wins," he said to the Nottingham Post. "We are getting goals or, alternatively, we are not getting goals but we are keeping clean sheets. The end result is that we are not getting the results that we want.

"As soon as we get three points again, we will move forward quickly and then keep pushing on from there."

Forest's latest loss came at home to Blackburn Rovers, where they let a lead slip to slump to a 3-1 defeat.

It was a disappointing way to lose their unbeaten home record over the season so far and it leaves them now facing a battle to get back into the promotion places.

Despite being the early pace-setters in the league, Forest are now four points off the top two and this current dip in form needs to be ended as soon as possible if they are to make a promotion push this campaign.

Pearce's men raised expectations with their excellent start and anything other than a top six finish will be considered a disappointment, as a result.

The club's next chance to end this poor run of form will come against Huddersfield Town, who they take on at the weekend.
