Everton defender Phil Jagielka got a pleasant surprise today.
EA Sports tracking data revealed that the England international has recorded the fastest sprint in the Premier League so far this season.
The centre-back clocked a speed of 35.99 km per hour, more than the likes of Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling and Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
Many Premier League fans would be surprised by the revelation, which seems to have amused Jagielka.
Jagielka may not be a truly world-class central defender, but he is an important player for both England and Everton.
Having joined the Toffees from Sheffield United in 2007, the 32-year-old has established himself as a consistent performer for the Merseyside outfit.
