Did he fling a boot? Was there a heated exchange involving Stoke City forward Bojan Krkic following a recent home date with Swansea City?
It had been reported by The Sun that the Spanish forward was less than amused at having to spend another 90 minutes on the bench as Mark Hughes’ men came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory at the Britannia Stadium.
Sparks – or, to be more precise, certain pieces of footwear - were said to be flying afterwards, with Bojan leaving those around him in little doubt that he expected more than a bit-part role upon signing for Stoke over the summer.
The Sentinel has, however, endeavoured to pour cold water on a potentially disruptive tale.
They claim to have been informed by ‘a senior dressing room insider’ that the incident ‘never even happened’.
A ‘third party’ is accused of leaking details, but who would do such a thing – another disgruntled player, an agent unhappy about his client’s lack of playing time?
Whoever it was, Stoke supporters will be hoping that there is indeed no substance to the story.
Bojan’s arrival in England was considered be a sign that the Potters are heading in the right direction, shedding their long-ball tag and offering greater appeal to European stars.
After all, securing the signature of a man who has represented Barcelona, Roma and Ajax was no mean feat – especially when you take into account the other clubs reported to be in the mix.
It has to be said that Bojan has struggled to deliver on his promise – which is becoming an alarmingly familiar theme for the 24-year-old – but to suggest that he is a disruptive influence appears a little far-fetched, even taking into account the stats which show he is yet to prove his Premier League worth.
