Arsenal morning news: The problem with Reid rumours, Wenger identifies key strength

A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

Arsenal are set to make a move for West Ham United defender Winston Reid according to the Mirror.

Arsene Wenger has been forced to use a combination of different players in his backline this season due to injury.

However, the Mirror also suggests that West Ham are still hopeful they can tie him down to a new contract.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says teammate Alexis Sanchez reminds him of Barcelona striker Luis Suarez.

Sanchez has had a decent impact since he moved to the Emirates from Barcelona last summer.

“He reminds me of Luis Suarez when he chases everything down and he makes nothing into something. He’s done that for us twice and he’s scored goals at important times for us,” said the Ox.

Sanchez is included in what Arsene Wenger feels is one of his side’s biggest strengths; pace.

Theo Walcott returned to the Arsenal squad for the game against Sunderland although he was an unused sub.

“And the pace we’ll have in the side when he comes back will be very interesting. Walcott’s quick, Chamberlain’s quick, Sánchez has very quick feet, so we can be very good in transition,” said Wenger.
