1 shot, 1 goal: Newcastle United’s Sammy Ameobi lethal v Tottenham Hotspur in Premier League

St James Park

Sammy Ameobi made a big impact for Newcastle United against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Sunday.

Newcastle United attacker Sammy Ameobi was one of the stars of the show against Tottenham Hotspur.

The 22-year-old came on as a half-time substitute and scored within 10 seconds of the restart. It became 1-1 in the Premier League clash at White Hart Lane at that stage.

Fellow substitute Remy Cabella provided the cross for Ayoze Perez to head in his first goal for the Magpies on 58 minutes, as Newcastle stunned the Spurs fans to eventually win the game 2-1.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has been widely hailed for his substitutions, with former Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona striker Gary Lineker taking to social networking site Twitter to praise him.

Ameobi, too, has been praised for his display, but his stats show that he had a mixed game.

Ameobi also won all his duels and tackles, and gave a good account of himself, but he certainly has room for improvement.
