Tottenham Hotspur are in the midst of a scouting mission on Bayer Leverkusen star Christoph Kramer, according to reports.
The German international has spent the past 18 months on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach and has built up a reputation across Europe as one of the brightest midfielders in the game.
Last season, he made 33 Bundesliga appearances for Monchengladbach and his impressive performances caught the attentions of Manchester United, Liverpool et al.
“Tottenham's Franco Baldini is on the trail of Christoph Kramer after watching the World Cup winner THREE times since the start of the season. The White Hart Lane club's technical director has run the rule over the German international several times during the midfielder’s successful loan spell with Borussia Moenchengladbach," states the report.
German media outlet Bild claimed that his current loan club were contemplating a £12 million bid during the summer but such speculation failed to materialise into anything concrete.
Kramer is described as a defensive midfielder with excellent vision and passing skills. He has represented his nation at all levels and started the World Cup final for Germany against Argentina, replacing the injured Sami Khedira.
