Spurs morning update: Early team news; Baldini tracking German star

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur take on Newcastle United this Sunday lunch-time, with both sides eager to get all three points for different reasons.

Spurs will want to build on their impressive showing in Europe last week and attempt to climb back into the European places, while Newcastle will hope to move out of the relegation zone.

In early team news, the BBC reports that Nabil Bentaleb and Kyle Naughton both face fitness tests while Federico Fazio is suspended following his red card last weekend.

Newcastle will make late checks of their own on Mike Williamson, Cheick Tiote, Sammy Ameobi and Emmanuel Riviere.

In other news, the Sunday People reports that Tottenham’s technical director Franco Baldini is closely monitoring Bayer Leverkusen player Cristoph Kramer.

The Spurs supremo is said to have watched Kramer three times already this season as the midfielder continues his loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach.
