The Colombian has an excellent record against The Blues, especially from that Super Cup tie in 2012.
Louis van Gaal confirmed last night that Colombian striker Radamel Falcao was a doubt for the game - as he is struggling with a knock ahead of the clash.
This will no doubt be news wished to fruition by Chelsea players and fans.
Because the Manchester United star has fond memories of taking on Chelsea.
In September 2012 Atletico Madrid and Chelsea went head to head in the UEFA Super Cup. Essentially the same team that would go on to win La Liga in 2013-14, Atletico ripped into Chelsea from the start - leaving with a well deserved and comprehensive victory.
The main difference between that Atleti team and the one from last year is the striker - because it was Falcao two years ago, rather than Diego Costa.
So while the £32 million man is himself trying to prove his fitness for Chelsea, Manchester United fans will hope that Falcao can shake off his problem in time for today.
Because he of course scored a hat-trick in that game in what was perhaps the complete striker's performance.
Gary Cahill and co will be hoping not to see him in full flow once again...
