Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has thanked the supporters ahead of the Premier League clash against Chelsea at Old Trafford this afternoon.

He said: “Big game this afternoon .... Come on guys ! And you, are you ready ? Thanks for your support.”

The Belgian international has barely featured under new boss Louis van Gaal and has often become the subject of jibes from fellow supporters.

Fellaini became the Red Devils’ big summer signing 15 months ago under former manager David Moyes but last season struggled to make an impact.

As he warmed up for last week’s encounter at West Bromwich Albion, the WBA official Twitter feed mocked the 6ft 4inch midfielder, saying: “Fellaini has now taken his tracksuit off, fortunately he has a Man Utd strip on underneath.”

But Fellaini proved the doubters wrong hat game, coming off the bench to score a wonderful equaliser – his first Premier League goal for the club.

With renewed confidence, the former Everton man will be hoping for a taste of the action today and ahead of the Chelsea clash he took to social Twitter in order to gear up the United supporters.

Van Gaal’s side know a victory over the Blues will see them leapfrog rivals Liverpool and Arsenal and move into fifth spot in the Premier League.

The challenge, however, couldn’t be more daunting as the visitors arrive with a near perfect record this season after sweeping aside almost all before them.
