Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has written off Manchester United’s chances of catching Chelsea this season.
Chelsea will head into today’s match three points clear at the top with 22 points from eight matches. Jose Mourinho’s side have yet to lose a game in the league this season and have been the most impressive team in the English top flight.
Meanwhile, United have made a stuttering start to the 2014-15 campaign and are currently 10 points behind Chelsea.
United manager Louis van Gaal has said that his side can still catch the London outfit and have a chance of winning the league title, but Carragher insists that that won’t be the case.
‘There’s no chance of United catching Chelsea’, the former England international told Sky Sports. ‘The target for United, the realistic one, is to get back into the Champions League and I think they have got a great chance of doing that’.
