West Brom star expresses concern for 'proper club' Birmingham City on Twitter

Birmingham City FC - St. Andrews

Ben Foster is hoping his former club can turn things around.

If you think your team had a bad day at the office today, be thankful you are not a Birmingham City supporter. The Championship side currently find themselves in turmoil.

They survived relegation to League One by the skin of their teeth last season, but the man who kept them up is gone. They sacked Lee Clark earlier in the week, after recent struggles from the club.

The struggles on the pitch are echoed off of it, where finances are a real concern.

Today however, it was hard to look away from the pitch - as Birmingham City were thrashed 8-0 ... at home!

Bournemouth scored at will this afternoon leaving St Andrews in ruins after their departure.

One man who is not pleased to see Birmingham in this position is a rival goalkeeper. England international Ben Foster is currently at Midlands rivals West Bromwich Albion.

He joined West Brom from Birmingham City on loan in 2011, after Birmingham were relegated from the Premier League - eventually joining The Baggies on a permanent deal in 2012.

But he is sad to see a former club struggling in this way - as you can tell from this Tweet...
