Fans of the Micro Machines series are to be treated to a new game that continues the top-down miniature toy car racing antics.
Entitled Toybox Turbos, the new game coming from Codemasters can be seen as the spiritual successor to Micro Machines. The game has players racing tiny toy vehicles around 18 obstacle-ridden courses placed in locations from childhood. .
“Players will speed past spilt sticky jam on the kitchen table, dodge flaming Bunsen burners as they take their opponents back to school and zip past the runaway train in races around a railway set and more,” Codemasters explains.
The game will be coming with 35 customisable mini racers, with sports cars, dragsters, ambulances, buses, taxis, ice cream vans, milk floats, construction vehicles, moon buggies and more to collect.
Players will also be able to pick up power-ups in races to even the field, including mines, machine guns, electric pulses and giant hammers.
There will be six different modes to compete in, with players able to choose from Classic Races, Time Trial, Escape, Overtake, Countdown and Elimination challenges. You can check out Toybox Turbos in the trailer below.
