Chelsea and Manchester United face off in arguably the biggest game of the Premier League season so far, but despite United having home advantage, there are some pretty big reasons why Jose Mourinho's side can head back to London with all three points.
Here are three such reasons why Chelsea could be victorious on Sunday:
Chelsea are unbeaten in their last three league games against Manchester United and they have only conceded one goal in that time. That bodes well when you consider the attacking talent at United’s disposal and if the Blues can keep the hosts' goals to a minimum they have the attacking talent of their own to take all three points.
Chelsea are also the only team to have beaten United more times in the Premier League than they have lost to them.
Chelsea have dropped just two points out of a possible 24 in the league this season and that form is likely to give them huge confidence going into Sunday’s game.
Mourinho will also know that despite the points-gap between the two sides, United are once again one of the best sides in the division given their summer spending, and he will know the importance of getting one over them in their own back yard and the increased confidence that would bring.
United’s defensive frailties
For all United’s qualities there remain huge questions regarding their defence. Louis van Gaal’s side has conceded 12 goals in eight games this season – although to be fair five of those did come in the defeat to Leicester City. But with Diego Costa tipped to return for Chelsea, United’s back-line will have to be at its best.
It is matches like this that experienced centre-backs are vital for and United do not currently have any.
