West Ham United’s season gets better and better.
On Saturday, Sam Allardyce’s side registered yet another victory in the Premier League, this time against defending English champions Manchester City at the Boleyn Ground.
In what proved to be a hugely entertaining match, West Ham edged to a 2-1 win against Manuel Pellegrini’s side to maintain their place in the top four of the league table.
Morgan Amalfitano put the Hammers ahead on 21 minutes when he turned in Enner Valencia's cut-back from just yards out. City were unlucky not to go 2-1 up as Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure both were denied by the West Ham crossbar.
Diafra Sakho headed in Aaron Cresswell's cross on 75 minutes to score in his sixth straight Premier League fixture, only for David Silva to halve the deficit just two minutes later with wonderful curling effort.
West Ham held on for the final minutes of the match to pick up all three points at home.
