Michael Owen has written off Manchester United’s chances of winning the Premier League clash against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday.
‘Louis van Gaal felt it was the best United had played all season against West Brom at the Hawthorns on Monday night but they will surely have to improve again if they are to get anything out of the visit of Chelsea’, the former United striker wrote on Betvictor.com. ‘This current United side doesn’t yet resemble the side I knew during my time at Old Trafford and I can’t see past an away win’.
Owen’s prediction will be backed by many football followers. Chelsea have been the best and most impressive team in the Premier League so far, and have yet to suffer a single defeat.
Jose Mourinho’s side are much stronger than they were last season, with summer signings Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas in imperious form.
However, United should not be written off just yet. Although Louis van Gaal’s side are struggling defensively and conceded twice against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Monday, they have a strong attacking unit and are capable of scoring goals.
Chelsea will probably be the favourites to win on Sunday, but United are in with a strong chance of picking up all three points at Old Trafford.
