Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has revealed that that Radamel Falcao could miss Sunday’s Premier League clash against Chelsea.
The Dutchman made the revelation late on Saturday night, claiming that the 28-year-old striker is struggling with fitness issues ahead of the match at Old Trafford.
‘He got a kick in the morning [on Friday] so we have to wait and see if he's fit enough’, United’s official website quotes Van Gaal as saying.
‘But it's not a knee problem. He had a knee problem but not anymore. We have to build Falcao up, that I have also said in the first press conference when he came to our club.
‘It is difficult because we are playing [games] already, that’s difficult but we have played him because I like the way he was playing so we play with two strikers. Now I have to choose between two strikers, even three because [James] Wilson can also play, the younger player’
If Falcao does miss the game against Chelsea, then it will be a huge blow to United’s chances of winning the contest.
Although the former Atletico Madrid star, who joined United on a season-long loan deal from AS Monaco on transfer deadline day, has not been at his best, he remains a deadly striker who can change games in a moment.
