Leeds United conceded twice in the second half to suffer a 2-1 home defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship on Saturday.

Leeds United suffered a 2-1 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday.

It was Wolves, though, who had the first chance of the game after just eight minutes when Dave Edwards headed towards goal, but his effort went over the Leeds crossbar.

Then minutes later Steve Morison and Alex Mowatt had chances in succession, before Mirco Antenucci opened the scoring on 18 minutes.

It was Morison who provided the assist, allowing Antenucci to shoot home from inside the Wolves penalty box.

Morison could have added a second assist to his name on 25 minutes had Alex Mowatt been able to turn his cross in.

Leeds had yet another good chance to double the lead on the half-hour mark, but Tommaso Bianchi’s header from a Giuseppe Bellusci cross went wide.

Wolves had the first chance of the second half just before the hour mark when Nouha Dicko saw his header saved from close range.

However, the visitors restored parity on 66 minutes through James Henry, who shot in from close range with his right foot.

The visiting Wolves stepped up their game thereafter and scored the winner five minutes from full time when Leon Clarke turned in Matt Doherty’s pass.
