Tottenham's Pochettino: Why I'm 'not too happy'

Hugo Lloris

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettuno was annoyed his side missed out on a clean sheet.

Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino has displayed the perfectionist side of his nature.

The Argentine saw his side record a 5-1 win over Asteras Tripoli with impressive individual displays from two attacking players.

It was however the one goal against column which has annoyed him, with Spurs missing out on a clean sheet.

While last resort stand-in goalkeeper Harry Kane is not being held accountable for his fumble which let in the late effort, Pochettino has questioned the events in the lead up to the strike, which saw Hugo Lloris sent off.

“I’m not too happy because of the end of the game.

"At 5-0, we need to manage the game better and not give the possibility to the opponent to arrive one against one with our goalkeeper. For that, I’m not satisfied."

Tottenham's defence stood off and exposed Lloris into the scenario, and now he will be suspended for the next game.

Pochettino is not crying over spilt milk either. The goal is the difference between first and second in the group at present.

Spurs share the lead with Besiktas, having the same number of points, the same goal difference and equal goals scored. A 5-0 win would have given them an outright advantage.

There are still three games to go, but the Argentine is right to impose high standards on his players whatever the scoreline, and this is a lesson to be learned which hopefully the side can learn from going forward.
