Queens Park Rangers fans have been left annoyed by the news that Rio Ferdinand is set to retire at the end of the season.
Ferdinand announced his plans on the Jonathan Ross Show, which is due to be aired tomorrow night, and the latest publicity stunt has angered his current club's fans.
QPR's supporters feel that Ferdinand's heart hasn't truly been in playing at Loftus Road since joining this summer and, with little future in the game left, he could be lacking in motivation to perform.
Ferdinand was one of The R's marquee summer recruits, but he has already fallen out of favour at the club. The experienced centre-back was dropped to the bench for QPR's most recent fixture against Liverpool, and he looks set to remain there for the time being.
There was a hope that his arrival could have provided QPR with the experience and class needed to steer them away from relegation troubles, but Redknapp's man are struggling.
The London club are currently bottom of the Premier League and they will need to have a serious up-turn in standards if Ferdinand's last season is not to be a relegation one.
Here is the best reaction from QPR fans on Twitter.

Rio Ferdinand planning to retire at the end of this season. For his sake he should've quit playing last May. QPR have been fleeced.— Phil Morgan (@pnm1979) October 24, 2014
I'd have signed Rio but late for pre-season, the 5 cap, tweets, the book, on Ross talking about looking forward to retiring - all wrong #QPR— David McIntyre (@davidmcintyre76) October 24, 2014

Rio Ferdinand apparently happy to be jacking it in at the end of the season. I'm betting there's 1 or 2 QPR fans that'll be highly delighted— Steve G (@i_am_softlad) October 24, 2014
