Leeds boss Darko Milanic reveals what he has to replace with Soulemayne Doukara unavailable this weekend.
Leeds United manager Darko Milanic has explained exactly what the side will be missing through Soulemayne Doukara’s suspension.
Doukara accumulated his fifth booking of the season in the draw against Norwich City earlier this week, which means he’s suspended for the important home game against Wolves.
“The move was very good and Doukara did a lot of dirty jobs, he played well in this game,” the boss told the Leeds website.
“In football, I talk everyday how important the group is. For the players, it is difficult for the ones that won’t play but it is important that they are ready.”
Wolves are a side that like to dominate games with heavily possession based football, which makes it important for Leeds to have players who are capable of breaking up the play.
That helps to release the pressure being built on the Leeds defence, turning dangerous situations into counter attacks.
Doukara is one of the best at the club when it comes to working hard in attack to ensure that those dirty jobs are taken care of and his performance against Norwich is a sign that he’s got great ability in terms of finishing.
Milanic won’t be pleased that the momentum Doukara had started to build up has now been lost through the suspension but it means a chance for another player to step up and put some pressure on the manager.
Fortunately for Leeds and Milanic, they have one of the biggest and best squads of players in the Championship and it’s a positive problem for Milanic to have.
However, with each game Leeds go without a win under Milanic the pressure is building and fingers crossed it won’t get to breaking point before the side starts climbing the table.
