Manchester City morning news: 'Outside chance' over Lampard fitness, Collymore slams City

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.

Manchester City midfielder Frank Lampard could be fit in time to face old club West Ham United this weekend.

Lampard has been in the medical room, missing the Champions League trip to Russia with a thigh problem.

The PA claims Lampard has an ‘outside chance’ of being fit after he was carried off against Tottenham.

Former Liverpool and England striker Stan Collymore has slammed Manchester City, suggesting the club need to stop making excuses over the Champions League.

City have won two Premier League titles in three seasons but have struggled to have a big impact in Europe.

“City appear to approach the Champions League as if they’re a work in progress. I just don’t understand it. The excuses have to stop, and the attitude has to change, if City are going to make good on the talent and funds at their disposal,” said Collymore for Bleacher Report.

UEFA will not refund Manchester City fans for travel and accommodation costs before they imposed a stadium ban on CSKA Moscow.

City were thought to be pushing for their fans to be paid back after CSKA Moscow supporters attended what was meant to be, a behind closed doors game in the Champions League match earlier this week.
