22-year-old attacker Danny Ings has long been touted as Burnley's danger-man, especially as his 21 goals and five assists from 40 Championship appearances last season were instrumental in their promotion to the Premier League.
Thus far this season Ings has struggled to replicate that devastating form, as he has contributed no goals and no assists in the Turf Moor club's cause.
Even with a fully fit and on form Ings, though, Burnley will not be able to cut the mustard in England's elite division and will seem out of their depth.
That is the form of two-time league winner Paul Merson, who has tipped Everton to beat Burnley by a 3-0 score on Sunday.
"I think Burnley are out of their depth in this league, even with Danny Ings fit again and even when Sam Vokes comes back," wrote Merson in his preview column for Sky Sports.
"Everton had a big result against Villa last week and you’d like to think they can go on a run now.
"They will look at Burnley as a chance to get a win and start rolling. I don’t see how Burnley can cope with Everton and I think it will be quite an easy win, especially with Ross Barkley fit and playing again."
