Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor insists that nobody at the club can let their standards slip after they picked up their first win of the season at the weekend.
The Magpies finally got their maiden three point haul when they took on Leicester City on Saturday.
It was a win which has alleviated some of the pressure on the side, but Taylor is determined to ensure that the side do not rest on their laurels - and he wants everyone giving their all from now on.
“We can’t carry anybody," he said to the Chronicle.
“The win against Leicester was massive.
“You could see the faces around the dressing room after the hard work. Everybody put 100% effort in which we needed. The fans were absolutely delighted. They had big smiles on their faces and that’s what we need to do more often."
Despite the victory, it would be naive to think that Newcastle's season was back on track.
The side have still made a dire start to the campaign and there is no guarantees that this win will spark a good run of form for the side.
Newcastle have to travel to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham Hotspur and a loss in the match could set them right back to square one.
Although the squad has enough quality to get themselves out of the hole it has made for itself, relegation remains a possibility and unless the side play to their maximum, as Taylor is urging, a long season could ensue.
