Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel comments on former Liverpool star Patrik Berger

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Brad Friedel has been singing the praises of former Liverpool attacker Patrik Berger.

The 40-year-old retired winger played in England for over 10 years, featuring for Liverpool, Portsmouth, Aston Villa and Stoke City (on loan).

During his time in the Premier League, former Czech Republic international Berger established himself as one of the better players, and Friedel has now outlined a special quality of his former Liverpool teammate.

‘If I had to name one, it would be [former Liverpool and Portsmouth winger] Patrik Berger - his shot was ridiculously hard’, the Spurs custodian told when asked who had the most powerful shot out of all the strikers he has faced.

Friedel’s comments about Berger will come as a surprise to many, as over the years the American goalkeeper has faced a number of top-class players with strong shooting skills.

However, there can be no denial that Berger is one of the better players in Liverpool’s recent history and did know how to shoot with power.

Brad Friedel was speaking as he took part in the City Index Celebrity Traders Challenge (click here to read more).
