Seydou Doumbia certainly won headlines this week, scoring a goal and winning a controversial penalty from Aleksandar Kolarov to help CSKA Moscow draw with Manchester City in the Champions League.
The Ivorian forward has been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham in the past and Newcastle were reportedly close to moving in the summer.
Doumbia has been on explosive form this term with six goals in seven games and it is suggested that he is hoping to move on from Russia soon.
However, the 26-year-old is under contract with CSKA until June 2016 and they may command a high price.
In the past, Doumbia has been valued at anywhere between £8 million and £15 million and it may be that Newcastle are unable or unwilling to meet that sum.
