Marca chose a picture for their front page this morning of what pretty much summed up the mood of every Liverpool fan at Anfield last night.
The pro-Real Madrid newspaper went with a front cover of glum looking Liverpool fans who saw their team outplayed by a Real Madrid side led well by Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in attack.
Anfield was rocking before the match kicked off last night with a buzz and expectation over what the side could achieve against the reigning European champions.
The Reds started the game positively and pressed al over the pitch to try and give themselves an advantage before Ronaldo converted an assist from James Rodriguez with a neat finish.
Benzema then added two goals after poor marking from set pieces, his first a looping header over Simon Mignolet and his second a tap in after a scramble inside Liverpool’s box.
Liverpool’s focus now turns to the Premier League game against Hull City before they get the chance to have some revenge over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
