Leeds United’s Sam Byram: Norwich City should be back in the Premier League

Leeds United defender Sam Byram is impressed with Norwich City following the two sides’ 1-1 draw in the Championship on Tuesday.

Norwich City should be playing in the Premier League soon, according to Leeds United defender Sam Byram.

The 21-year-old returned to the Whites’ team at right-back for the Championship clash at Carrow Road on Tuesday and gave a decent account of himself.

However, Byram, who has been on the books of Leeds since 2005, could not help Darko Milanic’s side to all three points.

After the match which ended in a 1-1 draw, the youngster admitted that Norwich could be playing in the Premier League.

‘They’re a very good team’, Leeds’s official website quotes him as saying. ‘They should be back in the Premier League with the quality they’ve got so to get a point off them, I think we feel like we’ve done a good job’.

Norwich suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season, but they are on course to regaining their top-flight status.

Neil Adams’s side have made a strong start to the 2014-15 Championship campaign and are currently fifth in the table with 22 points from 13 matches, just four points behind leaders Derby County.

The Canaries do have a strong squad, but so do Leeds, who will be keen on finishing in the top six of the Championship. However, the West Yorkshire outfit are struggling at the moment and are currently 15th in the standings with 16 points from 13 matches.
