West Ham United defender Carl Jenkinson is determined to ensure that his team keep their good form up for the rest of the season.
The Arsenal loanee admits that West Ham are delighted to have made such a good start to life, but he is keen to keep standards high.
"We're ahead of schedule at the moment - people would have bitten your arm off to say we're fourth at this stage of the season, but it's nothing more than this team has deserved for the way we've played so far this season," he said to West Ham's official site.
"We definitely justify the position we're in at the moment and we've just got to keep pushing on and keep getting the results."
Jenkinson is currently looking down on the club which he is on loan from and if the Hammers can continue to stay ahead of the Gunners they should be in a good position at the end of the season.
West Ham have played with a new found attacking style to their play and seem to have benefited from the changes which Sam Allardyce has made over the summer.
They face a tough challenge this weekend, though, when they take on Manchester City.
It will be a test of their credentials to break into the European spots, but they are sure to be backed by a vocal crowd.
The atmosphere around Upton Park is more positive than it has been for some time and if the side can pick up a shock win over the current Premier League champions then the excitement about this campaign is only set to grow.
