VIDEO: Ex-Arsenal flop scores in Indian Super League

Arsenal fans may not have the fondest memories of André Santos, but the Brazilian scored a decent goal for FC Goa this afternoon.

André Santos wasn't the best of signings for Arsenal, but he has made a bright start to life in the Indian Super League.

The 31-year-old was much maligned by Gunners fans between 2011 and 2013 after signing from Fenerbahçe for around £5.5 million.

Santos went on to make just 25 appearances for Arsenal and was sent on loan to Gremio in 2013 after failing to adapt to English football.

From Gremio, the left-back went to Flamengo where he was attacked by a fan during a 4-0 defeat to Internacional and had to go to hospital.

But Santos has looked much better playing for FC Goa in the inaugural Indian Super League.

Santos scored an excellent goal to open the scoring against an unbeaten Atletico de Kolkata side - a game his team went on to lose 2-1 and he spent a lot of the game linking up with fellow ex-Gunner Robert Pires, who is playing at the age of 40.

The rejuvenated Brazilian almost netted a second too when he lashed a free-kick just wide.
