United morning news: Colombian links return; Chelsea injury blow for Sunday

Fredy Guarin

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

Manchester United could face Chelsea with the Blues having to rely on Didier Drogba up front this weekend.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Loic Remy has joined Diego Costa on the treatment table, meaning Chelsea will have only one senior striker available for the trip to Old Trafford.

The news is likely to come as a boost to United, who will want to get back to winning ways having dropped two more precious points against West Bromwich Albion on Monday.

But when you consider Chelsea smashed six past Maribor on Tuesday evening, they are a side not to be taken lightly, even without two of their more regular goal-scorers.

In other news, the Daily Star has again linked Fredy Guarin with a possible move to United.

The Inter Milan midfielder has been linked with a whole host of sides across Europe and the latest reports claim the Colombia international could be on his way in January, with the Italian side allegedly keen to reduce their wage bill.

The report states that the player is keen on a move to United and that Louis van Gaal’s side see him as a possible alternative to Arturo Vidal.
