Spurs have conceded just 3 headed goals in the Premier League since the start of the 2013/14 season, fewer than any other team.— Spurs Stat Man (@SpursStatMan) October 21, 2014
Tottenham Hotspur are the best team in the Premier League since the start of the 2013/2014 season in terms of headed goals conceded in England’s top flight.
The Spurs defence has been forced to endure three different managers since the start of the last season with Andre Villas-Boas replaced by Tim Sherwood before Mauricio Pochettino was appointed at the start of this campaign.
The stat suggests that Spurs are extremely effective in terms of how they deal with set pieces and organisation and also suggests that they are a difficult team to challenge aerially, especially in terms of attacking them in the air.
There have been encouraging signs from the Tottenham defence this season as they share the same defensive record as local rivals Arsenal and a better record than Liverpool and Manchester United despite conceding four against Manchester City last weekend.
If Spurs can improve their defence in terms of how they deal with threats on the deck and from wide areas, Pochettino stands a great chance of guiding the side into the Champions League next year.
