This week it’s no different. While the Blues edged past Crystal Palace 2-1 away from home on Saturday, Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by Hull City at the Emirates Stadium.
Fabregas, who moved to Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer, once again played a key role in Jose Mourinho’s side’s victory, scoring what proved to be the winning goal.
Reflecting on the weekend’s action in the Premier League, former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys wrote on his blog: ‘I wonder how many times Arsene Wenger has regretted not re-signing Cesc Fabregas this season?
'How good does Fabregas look? A class act. I suspect Fabregas is somewhat relieved things have worked out the way they have. Arsenal haven't changed. Not good enough in a battle’.
Fabregas, who left Arsenal for Barcelona in the summer of 2011, has indeed been a great player for Chelsea so far this season.
The 27-year-old Spain international midfielder has scored one goal, has created 25 chances and has a pass accuracy of 90% in eight Premier League appearances.
Chelsea are currently at the top of the league table with 22 points from eight matches, while Arsenal are 11 points behind them in seventh.
