Liverpool could have an advantage in adverse weather conditions at Anfield this evening.
Real Madrid trained at Anfield last night ahead of the match against Liverpool and in conditions, which could give the Reds an advantage.
Several Real Madrid stars appeared to be uncomfortable with the pouring rain as they trained and that could play into Liverpool’s hands, as they are more suited to variable conditions in England.
Real Madrid are at their very best when they are allowed to get the ball down and pass it around, controlling the flow and tempo of a match as they look to wear down the opposition.
That’s made more difficult in conditions like pouring rain and extreme cold because the ball is harder to control and it’s more difficult to get warmed up and into a rhythm quickly.
Current weather forecasts suggest that there will be rain just before the start of the game, clearing up as the match starts.
Regardless of the weather this evening, Liverpool won’t want to rely on external conditions for a result and will be looking to blow Real Madrid away with a quick start and a hostile atmosphere.
