PHOTOS: Cristiano Ronaldo v Liverpool - Celebrating, sulking and taunted

We look back at the patchy record of Cristiano Ronaldo v Liverpool ahead of the game between The Reds and Real Madrid tonight.

Liverpool go into tonight's Champions League game against Real Madrid understandably fearful of their star striker and currently the world's best player Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese forward has started the current season with a bang - scoring an incredible 19 goals in just 12 appearances.

But his record against Liverpool is certainly patchy. From his days at Manchester United he only ever scored the two goals against The Reds - neither of them at Anfield.

He scored his first goal for United against Liverpool in 2008 - in a 3-0 win at Old Trafford well remembered for the red card received by Javier Mascherano.

His other goal against Liverpool came in March 2009, as goals from Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena saw the home team lose 4-1 against their bitter rivals.

Liverpool fans know that Ronaldo has gone on to become an even bigger force at Real since he left United in the summer of 2009.

However, this impressive record they seem to have against him must count for something. Especially the fact that in five visits to Anfield, Ronaldo never once found the back of the net.

Here are some pictures of Ronaldo facing Liverpool down the years, good and bad...
