Cristiano Ronaldo is unstoppable and Liverpool found that in the first half of their Champions League clash against Real Madrid at Anfield this evening.
Madrid headed into the Group B game having yet to score against the Premier League outfit in their Champions League meetings. Ronaldo had also not scored against Liverpool at Anfield during his time at Manchester United.
However, it was the Portugal international forward who found the target in the 23rd minute. It was Ronaldo who started the move in midfield before laying off to James Rodriguez. The Colombia international then lifted the ball with his toe over the top for Ronaldo to hammer it home from 15 yards.
It was Ronaldo’s 70th Champions League strike and was soon followed by Karim Benzema’s headed goal, meaning that Madrid are now set to win all three points at Anfield.
