Napoli fighting Tottenham for Moisander

According to reports in Italy, Napoli and Tottenham sent scouts to watch Niklas Moisander play for Ajax against Barcelona last night.

Finnish captain Niklas Moisander could be the subject of a January bidding war between Tottenham and Napoli.

The 29-year-old is in his second spell at Ajax and he was at the centre of the Dutch side's defence as they took on Barcelona last night.

It may not have been the best evening for the stopper as his side were beaten 3-1 thanks to goals from Lionel Messi, Neymar and Sandro Ramirez, but he is still turning heads.

According to the Daily Mirror, Napoli sent a representative to the Camp Nou to watch Moisander in action, but Tottenham also seem to have had someone present.

The two clubs are likely to keep watching Moisander, who probably won't face a harder test all season than last night.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season and renewal talks not progressing, Moisander could be available cheaply in January.

Moisander, whose twin brother Henrik is a goalkeeper, has previously been linked with Everton, but the Toffees appear to have ruled out a move.
