Manchester City latest: Stadium expansion pictures; Aguero/Falcao comparison

Man City Etihad

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Work continues on the expansion of the Etihad Stadium’s south stand, and Manchester City have posted a number of pictures on their official website so fans can see the progress.

Work began in March of this year to add 6,000 seats to the stand and it is hoped the work will be complete in time for the start of the 2015/16 season.

In other news, the Daily Mail has published an interesting piece on the difference between the use of Sergio Aguero and Manchester United’s Radamel Falcao in recent days.

While the Colombian started the match against West Bromwich Albion on the bench due to jetlag, the Argentine started for City – two days earlier and having travelled longer for his country – and he banged in four goals.

The piece goes into wonderful detail, comparing the two players’ travels and form and is well worth a read.

And finally, David Villa could cut short his time at Melbourne according to reports.

The Spaniard will join up with City’s MLS franchise New York City FC in time for their first match in March, but the Manchester Evening News has picked up on reports claiming Villa’s temporary switch has been cut short and he will head back to America for ‘marketing and commercial requirements’.

It does not appear that City loanee Frank Lampard will do the same, especially when you consider his impressive form since moving to the Etihad.
