Former Manchester United star Gary Neville on how Liverpool can cope with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo in Champions League tonight

Manchester United great Gary Neville has his say on how Liverpool can stop Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League clash at Anfield tonight.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has advised the Liverpool defenders to stop Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo ‘collectively’.

The Reds will host the European champions in the Champions League Group B at Anfield this evening. Ronaldo will be a massive threat to the Liverpool defence, as he has been banging in the goals for fun so far this season.

On the other hand, Liverpool’s defence has looked fragile and has conceded goals that they should not have.

It will be really tough for Brendan Rodgers’s side to cope with Ronaldo tonight, but Neville has given them a piece of advice.

‘Collectively’, the former England international told Sky Sports when asked about Liverpool can stop Ronaldo. ‘There is no one Liverpool defender who will be able to stop him on his own over the 90 minutes. They will need the support of the other defenders’.
