Fernando Torres is under pressure to hit form soon at AC Milan, but he has the backing of teammate Michael Essien.
Fellow Chelsea alumnus Essien has finally been given a chance to make his mark in the absence of star man Nigel de Jong and he must understand Torres' mentality.
Essien hasn't exactly set Serie A alight so far since signing in January and Torres has only managed one goal despite being greeted with excitement when he arrived on a two-year loan from Chelsea in the summer.
"Every day I see Francesco training at the highest level.
"He will help us a lot this season and soon he will start to score lots of goals."
However, there are already reports in Germany that Schalke boss Roberto Di Matteo is plotting to take Torres from Milan and the Spaniard faces the grim possibility of warming the San Siro bench.
