Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he is proud of scoring his first goal at Anfield.
The Portugal international opened the scoring for the Spanish giants midway through the first half of their Champions League Group B clash against Liverpool.
The 29-year-old had played at Anfield before with Manchester United, but he had never been able to score.
However, on Wednesday the former Sporting Lisbon star found the target at Anfield with a deft effort and told Sky Sports after the match: ‘It was (a) special (night). It was my first goal here at Anfield so I feel very proud for that.
'I feel happy that we won the three points... Anfield is a difficult place but I think we played fantastic, especially in the first 45 minutes’.
France international striker Karim Benzema scored twice in the first half after Ronaldo’s goal as Madrid eased to a 3-0 victory.
