Tottenham's reported interest in Ali Alhamada of Toulouse has been rubbished by a respected Tottenham news source.
The Tottenham Way has suggested that the speculation surrounding Tottenham’s interest in Ali Alhamada as a replacement for Hugo Lloris is frankly, the worst rumour ever.
Spurs have been linked with a £9 million move for the Toulouse shot stopper, which creates more questions than answers, with the Metro claiming Spurs have resigned themselves to losing their current number one.
Surely Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t gone completely made in the short time he’s been at White Hart Lane, which would see him axe one of his best players for a risky investment from Ligue One.
“Worst rumour ever?” TTW leads into a report.
“Lloris is probably the best thing about Spurs at the moment and there’s no way he’ll be sold unless he starts kicking up a fuss about our lack of progress (which is possible, of course, but very unlikely before next summer).”
The rumour appears to have been started in the Spanish press with no respected and authoritative experts on English and French transfer activity giving the rumour any support whatsoever.
Lloris is arguably the best goalkeeper in the Premier League, Alhamada plays for a club ninth in France’s top flight. It’s never going to happen in a million years.
