Taarabt hits back at Redknapp, Ferdinand could leave in January - it's all happening at QPR

There's never a dull day at Queens Park Rangers...

It's all happening at QPR.

After Harry Redknapp accused Adel Taarabt of being 'three stone overweight,' the Moroccan has duly hit back at his manager.

In an explosive interview, the 25-year-old vehemently defended himself and even took pictures to prove that he is, in fact, in shape.

Taarabt made several bold claims but here is the gist of them...

"I am a professional - this is not about retaliation, this is about protecting my reputation," he is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail. "I played in that reserve game for 90 minutes and if he didn’t think I was running he could have taken me off. Maybe I didn’t perform like I could because it was a reserve team game and I was protecting myself.

"Just because we are losing games I am not going to kick the ball in the stands. My job is to create, bring goals to the team. Maybe he expects me to make more tackles. I am not this type of player. I can only get fitness playing Premier League. You can train six or seven hours but you won’t be fit."

But it doesn't stop there for QPR, as new Rio Ferdinand rumours have now surfaced.

Indeed, according to the Daily Mirror, the 35-year-old could be in line to leave the Rs in January.

That would cut Ferdinand's spell at QPR to just six months, with several board members feeling vindicated for expressing doubt over the former Manchester United defender's signing.

With QPR yet to find a second Premier League win of the season, all these off-the-pitch stories are the last thing they need...
