Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has been singing the praises of Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.
The defending European champions will take on the Premier League outfit in the Champions League Group B on Wednesday.
Balotelli could start the game at Anfield despite his recent struggles, and Ancelotti believes that the Italy international striker is a player who has abundance of quality.
Ancelotti is not the first football manager to have made that remark about Balotelli, of course. The former AC Milan star does possess potential and can show his calibre from time to time, but he lacks consistency.
Balotelli has scored just one goal in the Champions League so far this season and has yet to break his duck in the Premier League.
During his pre-match conference on Tuesday, Ancelotti was also asked to compare Balotelli and Cristiano Ronaldo, to which he replied:
Balotelli and Ronaldo can never be compared with each other. While the former is not even a world-class striker, the latter is one of the two best players in the world.
Although Italy international Balotelli has time on his hand as he is 24 years of age, it would take a brave man to predict that the former Manchester City star will ever come anywhere close to Ronaldo in terms of status.
