Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez has been nominated for two prestigious awards in Spain according to a report from the Magpies’ official website.
The 21-year-old arrived at St James’ Park from CD Tenerife in the summer, after scoring 16 goals and providing seven assists in 34 league appearances.
That impressive record has now seen Perez nominated as Best Breakthrough Player and Best Attacking Midfielder by the Liga de Futbol Profesional.
Perez has been nominated in the Segunda Division categories having played there for Tenerife prior to his move to Newcastle.
The Spaniard has made nine appearances for the Magpies so far this season and is yet to score a goal. However, he has been used predominantly as a late substitute and as such has only racked up 94 Premier League minutes and an additional 63 minutes in the League Cup.
Big things are expected of Perez and his double nomination in his homeland is further proof of that.
