Luis Suarez is agonisingly close to making his Barcelona debut.
He aims to be selected for El Clasico this weekend after his ban for biting elapses, only after opponents Real Madrid have faced his former side.
Real take on Liverpool in the Champions League, and Suarez has warned his new rivals about the best player he has ever had the fortune to play alongside.
He told Spanish newspaper AS: "I've played with players of many levels, but Gerrard is in a league of its own.
"Ajax is a European side that teaches you a lot, but Liverpool gave me the name that I have now."
There is a strong chance Gerrard would pay the Uruguayan the same compliment, although Suarez's view may soon change.
He will shortly be playing in the same team as multiple time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi, forming a mouthwatering attacking trident also with fellow South American forward Neymar.
