Tottenham latest, waiting game for Gabbiadini, Mason on making the grade

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Tuesday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur will have to wait until the summer to see if they stand any chance of landing transfer target Manolo Gabbiadini according to the London Evening Standard.

The Sampdoria midfielder is co-owned by Serie A champions Juventus, and the forward has also attracted the attention of La Liga champions Ateltico Madrid according to the report.

His agent Silvio Pagliari is quoted, saying: “The links are a source of pride, but with the market Manolo has decided to postpone everything until the end of the season.”

“We have fully embraced the cause of Sampdoria and only in June will we begin to talk about the market."

Midfielder Ryan Mason has revealed he had offers to go to other clubs but persisted with Spurs, and having been given opportunities by Mauricio Pochettino, it appears his persistence has paid off.

In an interview with the London Evening Standard, he said: “I had offers to move on and I kept going out on loan. But all along I wanted to play at Spurs.

“I always believed I was good enough. If I hadn’t believed that, I would have left. There have been times when I’ve been out on loan when I knew I would have had opportunities back at Spurs if I’d stayed, and I’ve had other circumstances where injuries have hampered me.”
