Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is braced for his big chance.
Emiliano Martinez is preparing for the biggest night of his career.
The 22-year-old is scheduled to start in goal for Arsenal against Anderlecht, with Wojciech Szczesny suspended and David Ospina injured.
The Argentine has not started for the club for two seasons, and will want a more secure evening than his last game.
Martinez was in goal as Arsenal came close to being knocked out of the League Cup away to Reading, winning 7-5 after extra-time.
Poor defending let him down that night, and on this occasion Martinez will have the added luxury of playing with Arsenal's first choice available backline.
Martinez took to Twitter ahead of the game to post a photo of himself and his back-up, teenager Ryan Huddart, insisting they are 'ready to make an impact'.
He will need to be because Anderlecht will view him as a weak, or suspect, part of Arsenal's armoury, and will likely put him under a lot of early pressure.
Last season Martinez gained valuable first team experience out on loan at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday.
